Richardson High School is the flagship high school of the Richardson Independent School District (RISD). Hillcrest High School, for over 75 years, has maintained a strong tradition of academic excellence and school pride. The campus serves several Dallas communities including Preston Hollow, a portion of Vickery Meadow and a portion of Addison. Students have the opportunity to choose from a large variety of extracurricular activities, clubs and organizations. The school also offers a comprehensive AP (College Board Advanced Placement) Program and houses an Academy of Engineering. The main purpose is to improve student academic achievement. With effective and quality instruction, at risk students will achieve at the same rate as non-at risk students. For decades, Lake Highlands High School students have distinguished themselves in academic, extracurricular, and leadership activities. The School of Science and Engineering is known for its excellence in preparing students to attend the college or university of his or her choice while earning the financial support needed through scholarships and grants.Students study advanced topics in math and science through an academically rigorous program. They also are nurtured to maturity through language and liberal arts programs. Once a student has entered his or her junior year, the counseling staff intensifies its focus to address students' individual needs. It ensures that all the students will graduate with either the Recommended Diploma or the Distinguished Diploma. They assist with college applications, staying at the forefront of the admission requirements and timetables established by the colleges and universities. The School of Science and Engineering is recognized as one of the top high schools in the nation, but the high volume of scholarships and honors awarded to the school’s senior students is the real evidence of their excellence.
Richland helps students build their future through courses that can be applied to the first two years of a baccalaureate degree, one- or two-year certificates in a number of career fields, and training in the latest technology for students who want to advance in their current careers.
Uplift Peak Preparatory is a free, public, college-preparatory charter school located in east Dallas. They were established in 2005 as part of the Uplift Education network, the largest charter school network in North Texas.
