Major Initiatives

• Students Increase Ph.D. graduates to 50 per year
• Research: Increase externally funded research to $50 million per year
• Faculty: Increase tenured/tenure-track faculty from 80 to 120, emphasizing joint appointments with other schools at UT Dallas and with UT Southwestern
• Academic Programs: Add new programs and departments in materials science & engineering, bioengineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and systems engineering
• Facilities: Build $85 million world-class Natural Science & Engineering Research Laboratory
