M.S./Ph.D. Fellowship Program for Top UG Students
Updated Announcement for 2008
The Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at UTD is offering an outstanding fellowship program for high achieving seniors interested in continuing their studies at the graduate level. This program is designed to encourage undergraduate students to pursue a Ph.D. degree in the Jonsson School. Support will be in the form of a research assistantship paying $2,100 per month plus a tuition/fee waiver for full-time load* (you will need to have a faculty research advisor by the time you complete your B.S. degree). The offer will be for one year with continuing support for two more years (50% from the Jonsson School, $50% from the supervising faculty) contingent on satisfactory progress. After the third year, funding will be through the faculty member’s research funding.
This fellowship program provides an outstanding career option for high achieving students that are interested in research. It is for continuing students that will complete at least 60 hours at the Jonsson School (transfer students with senior standing and at least 30 hours at UT Dallas will also be considered). A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required for an application to be considered and a tenure track faculty must agree to supervise the research. Awards will be based on several factors, including GPA, GRE scores, reference letters, performance in graduate classes (Fast Track).

*If other fellowship, assistantship, or tuition and fee support is available, it will offset the award so that the total amount received is $2100 per month (plus tuition/fee waiver for full-time load; full-time load is 9 graduate hours per long semester, six in summer).
