Taha Landolsi’s research interests include optical networks, wireless networks, wavelet applications, MEMS applications, and optical switching and computing. Prior to joining the American University of Sharjah in 2005 he was an assistant professor of computer engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia. From 2000 to 2003, he headed an advanced technology development team at MCI, where he led projects on MEMS optical cross-connects, very-short-reach interface standards, optical performance monitoring and the GMPLS/ASON optical control plane. Before that he was involved in the design and optimization of several CDMA wireless networks for Nortel. He is a member of the Optical Society of America and a senior member of the IEEE.
