The Cyber Security Research and Education Institute (CSI) receives funding from AFOSR, NSF, IARPA, DARPA, NGA, NASA, ONR, ARO and NIH as well as from corporations such as Raytheon, Nokia, Cisco, VMware, Sandia and IBM. As part of its mission, CSI releases open source software tools for the research and development communities and conducts extensive interdisciplinary research on topics including risk and cost-based security and the behavioral aspects of security.
The goal of the Human Language Technology Research Institute is to incorporate activities in a broad spectrum of disciplines such as natural language processing, speech recognition and synthesis, knowledge acquired from texts and information extraction. These activities enable computers to interact with humans using natural language capabilities, and to serve as useful assistants to humans by providing services such as automatic text understanding and retrieval, information extraction and question answering, automatic translation and speech recognition.

They provide extraordinary service to our clients, funded research opportunities for our faculty and employment opportunities for our students.
Established in 2009, the Institute for Intelligent Energy Systems is committed to creating a world-class collaborative environment for energy systems research and education, to facilitating partnerships among faculty, students and staff, and to serving as a single point of contact for external stakeholders.
